L'Eroica Britannia - a little slice of Italy in Derbyshire, England.
The L'Eroica bike ride around the beautiful Tuscan countryside in Italy has been going for a long time now. The ride is everything to do with style and panache. Forget power meters, Garmins and all that tech nonsense. You can even ditch your STi shifters. In fact, take the indexing off and put them on the down tube. And don't ride a bike that was made post 1980 if poss. If you can't then brake cables must not run under the bar tape. And toeclips and straps are mandatory. Leather, canvas, string-back mitts and facial hair are encouraged. Get the picture? Vintage. Vintage everything these days. So why not extend the idea to other countries? Bingo! L'Eroica Britannia. I shot a whole feature of this gentle but tough sportive around the Peak District, but the portraits really tell the story. So here are a few. Can you see Fausto in there? Well, can you?
